Purchased the electronic copy of this book for a project management course on leadership. I prefer paper books but given the high cost to purchase one I opted for the electronic version, which worked out well for me. The book is well written, easy to read, and includes relatable stories. I absolutely like that the authors updated the book to include newer self-assessments about one's leadership style. I came across an older hard copy version of the book in hope of not having to purchase this one. I gave the book 4 stars since some of the explanations of the assessments are non-sensical in some cases. I felt more confused after taking the assessment than I did beforehand. Otherwise the book is highly recommended and relevant to learning about leadership types and communication styles. Important to note, the authors highlight current U.S. political leaders on a few occasions, so if anyone is sensitive to #45 (U.S. president) being identified as being an "intemperate" leader and having a lack of self-control, then you might want to select another text book. Again, I highly recommend the book. I just wish the explanations from the assessments were more detailed for practical application. This is among one of the best books I've used while studying project management. This book was assigned as a textbook for a Leadership Communication Graduate class. If you have more liberal views, you will find this book amazing. With more conservative views the book is definitely biased against you. The book does not do a good job of describing opposing points of view. If you are not able to independently analyze the text given and formulate your own decisions, I would recommend this book. If you are just going to take this reading at face value and accept all of the points made in this book, I do not recommend it.
